ELIGIBILITY TO VOTE
To vote in the 2024 General Election, you must meet the following criteria:
- be 18 years of age or older by Election Day,
- be a United States citizen,
- have resided in Colorado 22 days immediately before the election at which you intend to vote (Mon. October 14, 2024 at the latest), AND
- not be currently serving a sentence of confinement or detention for a felony conviction.
You may register to vote at any time up to and including on Election Day. You can do so on the Colorado Secretary of State’s website or in person at a Voter Service and Polling Center. If you want to receive a ballot by mail for the 2024 General Election, you must register no later than Monday, October 28. Starting Monday, October 21, you can visit a Voter Service Center in your county to register & vote, through 7:00 PM on Election Day when polls close.
HOW TO VOTE IN THE ELECTION
UPDATE YOUR REGISTRATION EACH TIME YOU MOVE
Ballots are mailed to all registered voters. To receive a ballot by mail, your address must be current. Check your voter registration and update your address (or get registered for the first time!) no later than Monday, October 28 by visiting GoVoteColorado.gov. All you need is your Colorado ID or the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number.
Beginning on Monday, October 21 and through 7PM on Election Day, you can go to any Voter Service & Polling Center (VSPC) in your county to register to vote, update your voter registration, vote in-person, and/or obtain a ballot to-go.
If you cannot locate your voter record online, please contact your county clerk and recorder’s office. A list of all county clerk and recorder’s offices can be found here.
VOTE IN PERSON
Every voter has the option to vote in person rather than returning their mail ballot; you do not need to surrender your mail ballot in order to vote in person. You may vote in person at any Voter Service and Polling Center (VSPC) in your county. Find the closest VSPC to you by using the map below.
VOTE YOUR MAIL BALLOT
You can complete your mail ballot and either return it by mail or deposit it at a drop box or Voter Service & Polling Center (VSPC). Find the closest drop box or VSPC to you by using the map below. All ballots must be received by 7 PM on Election Day: Tuesday, November 5. Postmarks do not count.
If you return your ballot via mail, make sure to affix postage. We recommend mailing your ballot no later than Monday, October 28 to ensure it arrives on time. After that date, we advise dropping your ballot at a secure drop box or Voter Service Center, or voting in person.
WHAT YOU CAN DO AT A VOTER SERVICE AND POLLING CENTER (VSPC)
- Register to vote or update your registration
- Vote in person
- Get a replacement ballot/ to-go ballot
- Drop off your mail ballot
- Solve any election-related problem. Need more help? Call or text 866-OUR-VOTE.
TRACK YOUR BALLOT
You can sign up to receive notices about your ballot with BallotTrax. You can also look up the status of your ballot on the Colorado Secretary of State's website.
FIND LOCATIONS TO VOTE
Just dropping off?
Visit any location in the state (24-hour drop box, Voter Service Center, or drop-off site) to drop off your ballot - it will make it back to your home county.
Need to vote in person?
Visit a Voter Service Center in your home county.
If you can't make it back to your home county in time to get in line by 7:00 PM on Election Day, you can visit a Voter Service Center in a different county, but you will only be able to vote on statewide races and ballot issues (so no local stuff).
How to use this map:
Zoom in to your location, or enter an address, and click on the icons for location and hours of operation.
Please note that the map functions best if you enter an address and choose a single category at a time. There should be a list of results below the map as well as color-coded pins on the map after you search.
- "VSPC" means the location is a full-service Voter Service and Polling Center and will show results in your county if you enter your address.
- "Drop-off" is a list of locations where you can walk or drive up to drop off your ballot. Results are also filtered by county if you enter a search address.
- "Dropbox" is a list of standalone 24-hour drop boxes where you can drop your ballot.
